What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to store information. They are commonly used for tracking user behavior, maintaining sessions, storing preferences, and serving targeted advertisements. Many websites require cookie consent banners because of how extensively they use this technology.
Why We Don't Use Cookies
OfferLetter.ai is built on a fully client-side architecture with no user accounts, no server-side sessions, and no analytics tracking. Because of this design, there is simply no need for cookies. Specifically, we do not use:
- Session cookies -- We have no server-side sessions to maintain
- Authentication cookies -- We have no login system or user accounts
- Analytics cookies -- We do not track usage, pageviews, or user behavior
- Advertising cookies -- We do not serve ads or participate in ad networks
- Third-party cookies -- We do not embed any third-party tracking scripts
- Preference cookies -- We use localStorage instead (see below)
What We Use Instead: localStorage
The only browser storage mechanism OfferLetter.ai uses is localStorage, which stores your Anthropic Claude API key on your device. Important differences between localStorage and cookies:
- localStorage data is never automatically sent to any server with HTTP requests
- localStorage data stays entirely on your device under your control
- localStorage is not accessible by other websites or domains
- You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser settings or the application
No Tracking Whatsoever
With your consent, we use two analytics and marketing tools:
- Google Analytics (Analytics category) — collects anonymous pageview and usage data to help us improve the site. No personal data is shared.
- Meta Pixel (Marketing category) — tracks ad conversions and page visits so we can measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. No personal data is sold.
Both tools are consent-gated — they only activate after you click "Accept All" or enable them in cookie preferences. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site. We do not use Mixpanel, Hotjar, or any other tracking service.
Third-Party Cookies
We load fonts from Google Fonts, which may set its own cookies according to Google's policies. We have no control over these cookies, but you can block them using your browser settings without affecting the core functionality of OfferLetter.ai.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever introduce cookies in the future, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms as required by applicable law. We will also update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
